From September 12 to November 12, 2024, the former steelworks of Bagnoli will be transformed into an open-air museum thanks to Lighting Flowers Bagnoli by Franz Cerami, a public art project that uses video mapping to illuminate abandoned industrial structures.

The initiative, promoted by the Extraordinary Commissioner Gaetano Manfredi in collaboration with Invitalia Spa, marks the beginning of the urban regeneration process of an area that represents a significant part of Neapolitan industrial history.

The intervention of Lighting Flowers Bagnoli involves the creation of eight maxi installations that will illuminate eight industrial artifacts.

The main objective of Lighting Flowers Bagnoli is to give new life to industrial archaeology artifacts through light and art, creating a union between past and future.

In addition to the 8 installations, it is possible to visit the Lighting Flowers exhibition, a luminous path that passes through three distinct environments.

In the first environment, the history of the installation is projected through Lightboxes, explanatory panels and backstage photos. In the second, the exhibition of 30 photographic works with oil and graphite interventions.

Finally, in the third environment, the documentary on Lighting Flowers through the various stages in the world, up to the installations in the Bagnoli area.
